MasterCool W15 Evaporative (Swamp) Air Cooler (Window-Mount)
Details
DescriptionEvaporative coolers (also called swamp, run away from, or air coolers) are devices that cool air through the simple evaporation of water. They differ from refrigeration or adaptation air conditioning, which use vapor-compression or absorption refrigeration cycles. In moderate humidity locations there are many sell for-effective uses for evaporative cooling, in addition to their widespread use in dry climates. For example, urban plants, commercial kitchens, laundries, dry cleaners, greenhouses, spot cooling (loading seaport, warehouses, factories, construction sites, athletic events, workshops, garages, and kennels) and incarceration farming (poultry ranches, hog, and dairy) all often employ evaporative cooling. In highly sticky climates, evaporative cooling may have little thermal comfort benefit beyond the increased ventilation and air repositioning it provides.Customer ReviewsOkay slight feel embarrassed window unitThis item was sufficient for one room. We decided after two weeks, that we should go with only window a/c units in the house. It did a okay job of keeping it 15-20 cooler than the shell temp in the immediate room, but on humid days didn't do us any good, hence the switch to a/c all in all. CONS: Didn't come with any mounting hardware or accordians, We did run it for over a week straight without any fight. Nice looking unit. |
