presumptuous in florida
lite incline, quiet when running, comes with vinyl slide out pannels for left and right sides, undemanding install in 36 inch wide window opening, plug into any 110 volt escape, uses about 4 amps, the front pannel below the air outlet folds down on hinges for easy filter entry. perfect to cool one room all the time, or keep in garage and use when the central air breaks down on friday and parts aren't readily obtainable until monday. one cool room is better than no cool room. home depot has it under their housebrand of hampton bay for eighty five dollars with a five year undertaking. keep cool.

Proper buy for the money...
While not the most headline-rich air conditioner (there's nothing electronic whatsoever about the thermostat and fan controls), it certainly gets the job done for lousy. Cools a single room reasonably, and in multiples of 2 or 3, it can take on most entire apartments.

Goldstar (LG Corp) 5050 air conditioner deficient
I purchased this window air conditioner at a Southern California Walmart in July, 2003 for $125. After lugging it residence, I installed it in my bedroom(15X15)- window. It worked well during that summer, but now (June, 2004) it no longer cools sufficiently - it has become more like a window fan. I cycled it off and on every month during the gone and forgotten winter (Southern California style)as advised in the included instruction manual. The guide states a one year free maintenance guarantee, but doesn't tell you about the $50/hour diagnostic burden levied by their affiliated independent service organization. I am very disappointed with this Goldstar unit, and would definitely not obtain another. I previously owned a GE 5000 btu model and it was much more durable.

It is new only 2 months old and it conservative like the fan is coming off. but it still putting cold air out does anyone know what could be customary on ? Plz help my 4 yr old son need the A/C
First of all, take it back. Only two months old? Just about all of them have a 12 month warranty. If you can't do that, post the MODEL and SERIAL number and then I can helpers more by getting parts drawings and so on through the net. There are great appliance repair spaces on the web. Can my window air conditioner get wet?

I bought a Goldstar window air conditioner (5000 BTU). Does it constraint some sort of cover to protect it from the rain? Or is it ok if it gets rained on? Because I have seen window air conditioners with covers on them before, so I don't in point of fact know and it doesn't say anything in the instructions.
It"s standard for the part outside to get wet. People will sometimes cover them for the winter.
