Works tremendous -- until it breaks!
I like the devise and operation of this humidifier. In fact, I have two of them. Ace Hardware gave me extra-fast delivery -- no complaints with Ace. The machines humidify very fast, put out a lot of moisture, and (unlike many others) are reasonably easy to maintain. Normally it will run fine on low or medium fan settings. Disregard about the high fan speed; it sounds like a helicopter taking off.The first one I bought worked splendid some of the time, but generally would not start up again after the humidistat controller automatically shut it off. Through much trial and slip, I figured out that you have to center the wick precisely on its hanger rail that runs along the inside of the bear scrutiny chamber so the float aligns correctly. Great -- problem solved, although crudely explained in the brief instruction sheet.Then, at the beginning of the second winter dry season here on the aged plains, the motor began to squeal, seize, and stop, especially at low speeds. A very righteousness Humidifier
Have Euphemistic pre-owned two of the Bemis H 12, 3 speed Humidifier, now for two years. They are very easier to use & require very little care, except for & supplementary cleaning. Must replace the Wick & the back Air Filter each year, to keep it working well. Also should receive one good tidiness per year, inside, as much dust will get on all surfaces in & around the fan area. They seem very well maitain the desired humidty very, as I have good Humidstats in rooms, to give indication of where settings should be for variences caused by outside air temp, which greatly affects amount of not ring true needed, to be added to room air. Just got a new 1045 Super Wick, when I put it on, I found that it did not have the little order on the top, left side to slide the little guide that holds the water level rod (that goes up & down with direct, to show when filling is needed. This made it hard to put the top back on, as rod would not stay in place, and had to "Duct Tape" to correct it...

I have a soothe humidifier (Bemis) which adds ~2.5 gallons of water/day..in the winter, to humidify our line. I need to fill it's reservoir daily! I use the same "softened" well mineral water, that is used throughout the house.
Problem: there is a decided build-up of a "pallid solids" on the humidifier "wick",
Water from a well that goes thru a be unbelievable softener still has sodium in it and some traces of calcium and of course Iron which zeolites does not undo.
The water softener is a replacement process in which calcium ion is replaced with sodium and the calcium removed and sinistral on the zeolites of the softener.
