Solid humidifier
I bought this after our old persuasion Vicks humidifer started spurting out water instead of steam. I really didn't necessitate to spend this much money on a humidifier, but I didn't want to keep replacing them either.I did a fair amount of research on this one and I received it last week. So far, it's much easier to fill than the Vicks. I can put it in the tub and it's full in no measure. I love the carrying handle too! It is fairly quiet, as compared to the old Vicks humidifier and on the low setting you can barely hear it. However, there is a loud glug glug glug as the water enters the steam senate. My son hasn't been woken by it so I guess it's not that big of an issue. The output is good, and so far, I've been able to run this nightly on Low, 70% for three to four nights without a restock.After a full week of nightly use, the heating element was 2/3 covered with scale, even with using the mineral absorbtion pads. the humidifier does the job - very quiescent - the mist is very fine thus the carpet in the bedroom does not get wet - we do refill it every evening - every other night would be control superiors, but it's not that big a deal - we highly recommend this to anyone with small children or those living in a dry or very cold climate - have purchased this for both our litter's babies' rooms -
fancy lasting
The domain of humidifiers is scary indeed. You may end of paying a lot for something that only lasts a few months, or makes monster like gurgling noises throughout the darkness.My personal experience is that in spite of its drawbacks this unit is the most reliable and longest lasting. I've had it 4 years and direction and when it finally gave up I bought the same unit again.Pros:Large 2.5 gallon tank (you'll only have to fill it once a day for a average sized room).Easy to operate.Easy to clean.Cheap mineral adjustment pads.Cons:slight gurgling sound may annoy some.bright blue LED betray too bright (but you can cover it).Hard water deposits may need to be removed.Overall, authoritatively recommended as this unit lasts and does its job.

If it is a humidifier, you will most apt to not be seeing "steam" come out, it is just vaporizing the invalid and shooting the mist into the air. Please make sure you have a clean filter in the humidifier, as they have a propensity to get moldy. Most local drug stores have the filters.
