    Description

    This considerable capacity renewable dehumidifier has been designed to adsorb moisture from small, enclosed areas. It will aide protect clothes and valuables from the damaging effects of mold/mildew and moisture rot. It is 100% renewable and requirements no power to operate. Just hang the Eva-dry unit in a closet, or you can place it in other small, sheltered spaces, and it will start to adsorb moisture. There are no batteries required or cords to plug in, the module works without power. There is an indicator window with special "moisture meter crystals" that transform from blue (when dry) to pink (when wet) to indicate when the unit needs to be "renewed". The unit will adsorb almost 8-10 ounces of moisture (depending on humidity levels this should take between 6 - 8 weeks). Once the moisture has been adsorbed it cannot puncture or spill. This unit uses a specialized, engineered, crystallized silica gel that is odorless, non-toxic and fully safe. When the indicator crystals turn pink it is time to "re-new" the unit. Simply dismiss the unit from where it is adsorbing moisture and plug it into a power outlet or power strip in a well ventilated section (bathroom with extraction fan, garage, outside, etc.). There is a built-in heater that will warm the crystals allowing them to magnify and release the moisture as water vapor into the outside air. It takes about 12-14 hours to altogether re-new the unit. When it is completely renewed the indicator crystals will change back to blue. The unit is stigmatize new again and ready to adsorb another 8-10 ounces of moisture.The crystals will remain active for 10 years and we make available a 5 year limited manufactures warranty on all EDV500 units.

    Noticeably effective in small areas
    I was surprisingly contented with the Eva Dry mini dehumidifier. I hang mine just out outside our guinea pig's cage and it absorbs leftovers moisture quite effectively, keeping their food and cage area from getting too wet. It takes several weeks to fully absorb moisture but the indicator will go from blue to bright reddish pink, and the unit will be noticeably heavier. Just plug the unit into the socket overnight to arouse.

    EDV-500 big rehabilitation over EDV-300 especially hanger
    I have 5 of these Eva-Dry rechargable dessicating dehumidifiers. Here in moist NC, using the larger in 4x8 closet works well. Takes some time, but definite measurable argument of 10-15% or so on humidity gauge after a couple of days. Need to recharge once a week here where even with the air conditioning on, indoor rel humidity is over 50% most era.The larger EDV-500 has a much better hook which fits through the holes in the Eva-Dry EDV-500 plug, a idiosyncrasy that is not very well documented!Also, there are occasional specials: recently a 2 for 1 sale on the EDV-500 with free shipping.Only remonstrate with for not giving this product a 5 star is that as stated in other posts, the recharge process gets the part very hot and it doesn't always sit well in an outlet without support. I too had one unit fall, and was fortunate the case stayed undefiled but the little beads could make for a real mess if the unit broke open!But the physical mess this thing...

    Substantial product, need to iron out some glitches
    I choose this product over refilling messy damp aid units anyday (yuck!).It seems to keep the closet justly dry. Two problems. Problem 1. When I renew one of the units, it falls out of the outlet unless I tolerate it with something else. This could be dangerous since it heats up. I'm able to renew it on a counter outlet but could be a more problematic for a regular egress that has more space between outlet and floor. Problem 2. My boyfriend who I forgot to tell about the element, went into my closet like a bull in a china shop and it fell off its hook and dead (glass beads everywhere) - I had to buy a new one after only a month. There should be a more secure way to affix the unit to hang in the stand or perhaps customer should opt to put it on the floor. The hook is fairly flimsy and if you have kids or clutzy significant others, suspended just isn't a good option for a closet that is full and tight.
