If you requisite to clip on to a rod/pole/etc, it will not sit upright. It will have to hang upside down. That being said, if you have a tent and you want a oscillating fan, this is the only one present! It won't work so good on vertical poles, but on a horizontal pole or rod it works great (but upside down). I have mine clipped on to 3/4" PVC that runs around the stomach of my 4X4X8 foot grow tent. Two fans will do the trick. this doll-sized fan is pretty good Ok I have bought two of these fans promote over here in Afghanistan the A/C don't cut it. I have had them for about a month and they both still work fine. I wish they where more powerful but hey you get what you pay for. I love the power full clips they continue very well, I have one fan hang upside down at the bottom part of the top bunk and it stays in place. I don't like the cord because it isn't very long. Over all I give it a four be featured cause the fans do what I need them to. I would suggest these fans to any military members like myself stationed over here. Egregious little fan to send with kids to camp! Last year I sent my kids to clique with battery powered fans. The batteries died in one day! Since their camp has plugs - which I didn't know last year - I looked for a substantial, small, plug-in fan to send this year. This fan is great. The best part is it won't take up limited table-top lay out on my kids' bedside crate and won't get knocked over easily. It is made of tough plastic, is small, the grill is orderly, so no fingers can fit in, and it is surprisingly quiet on both speeds! I just reviewed safe operating procedures with my 10 and 12 year old kids and I'm stable they will be very happy with these fans at camp for the next 7 weeks. Note: the clip is large - as big as an average woman's with a bequeath - with a very strong spring that requires two hands to open. It will clamp onto a table top edge, bed structure (but probably not a tube-framed bed) and will stay put. I gently put the clip on my son's hand to drive peaceful that it could hurt if played with or not used... |

Holmes HACP9B-U Oscillating 2-Speed Clip-On Fan
I would say this is a close-fisted to mid sized fan. It's a bit relentlessly to charge in the portrait nor did I reckon it when I bought it...but I took the endanger! I like it and didn't envisage much out of it insomuch as it was a escritoire fan. It's genuinely regular how you can snip this fan on a escritoire and it clings on unbelievably solidly. It oscillates communistic and unerringly undeviatingly towards you or you can set it fa upwards up to date liberal and normal so it circulates the air as contrasted with of blowing propriety at you when you're sitting at the escritoire. It does the job of keeping the dwell aplomb and I would promote! The only case I did not give this matter 5 stars is the string is a bit too straight for my escritoire order and I didn't like the attach elegance although it works good and appears truly robust. The essential shock was how wonderfully still it is even at intoxication precipitousness. It supplies just now the suitably amount of airflow to clash stuffiness and not interrupt flowing papers on your escritoire. In perception I want I'd bought one of these when I started getting hot flashes. Please note you can aim off the oscillating have a role by pulling up the top knob. At this appraisal detail for this grandeur, I'm very chuffed. The fan is little, yet not very succinct. It doesn't move a whole lot of air, but keeps me carefree enough as a escritoire fan. To begin with I wanted to use it in a laundry margin that gets hotter than the be situated of the auditorium, but it by a hair's breadth didn't move enough air. Whole the fan is nice-looking large. I did have some disturbance with the artillery not supporting the value of the fan steer at unnamed angles, but I wasn't picky about the fan positioning, so not a big see to. The power line is the phone-transcribe that's curled up like a reveal, but fully stretched out it is a bit pinched, on the other relief it does mizen-stay out of the way, so that allude to has both possitives and negatives. The shorten is big, hefty, and rubber padded; quite the fan's pre-eminent calibre.
Oscillating fan stops on one side?
I tried lubricating the oscillating linkage, which worked hurriedly. The fan gets 24/7 use and one day it just completely stopped while facing one side. Once I turned the fan rocker the other way- the blades started spinning again. What gives? I can only use it in the fixed position. Its a Holmes 2Sang-froid twin-blade desk fan.
Why does my oscillating fan sound bad?
When it oscillates back and forth- it every so often sounds like the motor loses power...but then recovers, after completing the refashion. Any fan experts out there? It's a Holmes dual rotor(two sets of blades), 18" escritoire fan.
Sounds like your oscillating linkage requirements lubrication. Remove the cover, and place a couple of drops of 3 in 1 oil on the joints of the linkage, do not use more than that. The dissuade the motor slows as it reaches the turn is that it is having to work too petrified to move the linkage through the turns. Some models have a plastic bushing installed
