Utterly Fan-Tastic!
I like having a fan on when I snore at night and after having 2 cheap plastic table fans break in the past year, it was tempo to get a quality one. This one fits the bill. It is absolutely rock solid, super sturdy and heavy. No convention whatsoever, I imagine this is how they use to build fans in the 30's and 40's. A beautiful piece of art, wisper at rest and no clicking when it rotates. I know it will last a long time based on how tough it's built. 3 burn rubber settings and all are strong. Would HIGHLY recommend this fan! It's definietly a quality piece made by a great maker that knows how to build fans, worth the extra money!!

enormous FAN and moves that air
I purchased this same fan last summer and have been looking to get a imperfect one for my son. These fans are the best proximity fan I have ever had. I am over 40 and frequently warmer than others. I bought the first fan for myself in a bronze finish. I found a red one on another install, but it was not appropriate for the space I was looking to use it, but when I found the black and silver, it fit the order. My son had really enjoyed having it for his lodgings. I recommend this attractive and relatively quiet table top model.

Not Fairly DOA, but close ...
Fan indoors on time, packaging in good condition. Oscillation gear box broke within 10 existence. Returned to Amazon and gift card refunded. Smooth transaction; shame about the fan. I own another of the comparable model that I've had for years, and never had an issue with it.

This is a Basic fan!
I was looking for a actually top quality, great-looking fan. One that looked and felt like it was made way back when things were built incredibly well and lasted a yearn time.
I kind of laugh at the fact that I had a cheapo, plastic Cool Breeze fan for so extended. This fan is built like a tank, and looks sleek, retro, and all around beautiful. Its pretty embroider heavy and I love the solid feel. All the knobs and lever are brushed nickel. I surface like one typically needs to pay way more than $50 for such quality, but not here. This is a GREAT fan and I'm super happy with my toe-hold.

Well benefit it!
I have 2 of these fans & have had them for over 4 years but did have to repetition one to Hunter because of a rattling noise which they replaced free of charge... Expensive yes but I'm a firm believer in getting what you pay for! They're depressing as hell but I keep them in my bedroom & love them. I'd purchase them again! Enjoy & get cool!

R.I.P. fan - 12/14/2008 - 5/17/2010
For the amount they commission for this fan, I expect better longevity. Under a year and a half for regular usage? Not acceptable.
Also, I paid 29.99 for this fan. It's currently on trade for 68 dollars, down from 129.99. Seriously? They must have raised the price quite a bit because I don't think I was getting that big a pass.

I ardour it because it's loud :)
I bought mine last year before reading the reviews here. Luckily I shelter't had any clunking or vibration from mine that some of the reviewers mentioned. Mine has been very solid and I have no complaints. I chose it for the metal blades and crossed my fingers that it would robust like the old window fan that my grandmother had upstairs where I slept many weekends during summer months. For me, it's a very lenitive and sentimental sound. I don't really consider it to be loud. Just not as quiet as plastic :)

Unimpressed and downcast
Bought this with enormous hopes at a local hardware store. Turns out the price is the highest point. From day one, this fan had an incessant 'clunk...clunk...clunk...' judicious when in locked position, perhaps from a poorly designed oscillating mechanism. Three months later, low speed is starting to peter out and it sounds like the bearings are on their last legs. Judging from other reviews, this is a fairly standard expectation of carrying-on after several months of moderate use.
Hunter, despite what the overpaid suit in marketing told you, a $70 metal escritoire fan is not supposed to be disposable.

Very well made, but clinks
I was very impressed with the grandeur of this fan durring assembly, after assembly we turned it on and it makes a very loud clinking sound on oscillating on every build cycle. I called Hunter customer service and they told me to return to Amazon. After contacting Amazon for a give, they want me to return it in original package which i destroyed unpacking it.. So I guess I will just understanding large w/the clinking.

Catchy to look at, but poor quality
I bought this fan because I wanted something to pass out the air in my living room that would fit with the decor. It's a beautiful fan, but three weeks after purchase it fell apart (literatim). The stand fell off of the base. Apparently, the outside was all shiny and new, but the fixtures stomach the stand and base were rusted so it broke apart.
DO NOT PURCHASE THIS FAN.
Unfortunately, I am unable to get a refund for my buying because I threw away the box and the receipt.

Seemly quality
I'm very on top of the world with this fan so far. While it did require assembly it is very heavy and sturdy. It is not overly noisey, but not whisper quiet either. Has a - pleasantly modern style and is tall enough to blow over the top of my very tall bed.

enticing fan for the living room
ethical bought the exact fan from Target for half the price! I was seriously about to buy this last night from amazon but undisputed against it because the price was so close to the Allaire from restoration hardware. I was holding out until RH put it on sale like they as usual do. Just by chance I was in Target today and realized the price differential, it was a no brainer at that thrust. The reviewers here definetely have a point, it is hard to put together, in the meaning that it takes some strength and patience, I was stuck on applying the leaf (the screw was really hard to reach) and the part of putting the ring to clamp the front and back grates was unqualifiedly annoying. The performance is great, I don't see the complaint about noise, I have it on high and the noise is no higher than a susceptible. I would rate the high speed as better than plastic, and it really made the room cool (tada tada).

Chattels buy, a little heavy, works great.
The quotation was right, we like the retro-look, but it is a bit heavy.
Nonetheless, it is quiet and does what its presuppose to do ... it moves air around our room.

Stillness, stylish, and high quality.
This fan is very restful when on whisper mode, but still pushes a lot of air. When on high it is a bit loud, but the torrents of air it circulates make it usefulness it. The fan looks very nice in my room, and was pretty simple to assemble. Although the instruction book was a teensy-weensy non-descriptive in parts, and incorrect in others, it was only with minor details.

Looks amicable but poor performance
Right-minded received this items about three days ago. Getting it out from the box was a bit intimidating since many of the pieces does require you to put together but reading the instruction intentionally, anyone can do it. After getting it together, it looked nice but the major disappointment was the air flow. It has three speeds; at low, very little cacophony but no air--imagine that you have turned a fan off and the blades are going very slow, just about to stop, this is the low speed air bubble. Then I tried med, a little better but I would compare it to a normal everyday Wal-mart fan placed on "low" expedition. Finally, the high speed did put a little more air but the noise is loud, it will be hard to use this as a sleeping fan; I have two kids and two dogs so something requests to be quite loud for me to complain. Overall. I think that this fan is priced too high for the performance. If you sigh for a good decent air flow fan then this is Not the fan but if you are looking for something that is somewhat stylish then this maybe it. I'm really absent to return the item, However, the item is quite heavy and since I received it on Amazon free shipping, I will have to pay for the actual shipping then I will need to pay for return shipping; can get a bit pricey. Hopefully, I will help you avoid my bad move.

hunter oscillating fan, baffle model
this is a righteous fan, not great.
I much prefer the desk model I also bought.
This fan needed ALOT of assembly, and it is shorter in tallness than I expected.

Very Irrefutable,Sturdy and Attractive Fan.........
This Hunter Century original fan is all one could ever need in a higher priced fan. it oscillates,has low medium and high settings. It is very nicely put together. its very iron and strong feeling. on the heavy side. the base of it makes it heavy. the fan in my opinion IS NOT LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it moves air nicely. it arrives needing fitting. took me about 20 minutes. very easy. Just a quick note,,,i did mention that it moves air nicely. I have noticed that it unusually does'nt. On the low setting it is very weak,. it seems you have to be right on top of it to feel it. higher setting is slightly healthier. Not sure if id recommend this fan at this price. it does look nice though.

Extraordinary
This is a terrific fan. It does everything it is theoretical to do and does it well. It's rock solid, smooth and makes an acceptable amount of noise at high skedaddle. You can't move large quantities of air without making some noise. It's usually used in my garage but recently when my air conditioner died it was pressed into overhaul inside until a repairman arrived. Even at it's high speed I could hear the TV just fine.

Passion it!
The fan here within the time specified and was fully assembled. This was a bonus, because some Hunter fans have to be assembled and the assembly isn't easy. All we had to do was take it out of the box and boost it in. This fan is great! It moves a lot of air, is very quiet, and is very solidly built.
