It's wretchedness to use
As other's have mentioned, it's deafening. It's a desk fan, it's on my desk, near my ears, and it creates a lot of noise in my otherwise quiet office.
But that's not the corporeal downside. It's the controls. They SUCK.
There is a little wheel thing near the base that you use to come across on and off and change the level. It's impossible to use with one hand, so you have to *pick the fan up* in order to turn it on/off/up/down.

Shrill on highspeed
At tenebrousness my wife uses this pretty little fan. On the low setting it is fairly quiet, but on the high home the sound is enough to keep me awake. I have the fan sitting on a thick resilient foam pad and that does help, but the highspeed home is usless.

ideal bedside fan
I've tried a lot of slight feel embarrassed fans for my small bedside table and this one is the best. It has a very small footprint - a bit bigger than a jumbo coffee mug. It is very easy to swivel side to side and up and down. On the low setting, it does not feel like a strong come to know to the face - just enough breeze to cool me off at night. And it's so quiet, you can't hear it from more than a couple feet somewhere else (i.e., doesn't wake sleeping spouse.) One person commented about the control dial being demanding to manage: it isn't if you wrap your hand around the base and then use your thumb to push the dial back and forth.
This is the fan you privation for those night-time hot flashes, ladies! And it's nice looking too.

Not that energetic
When I deliver assign to the advertisement for this product, I thought it would be perfect to cool my laptop, as I use it for long hours as a desktop. Well, the matter has to stay very close to help cool it. It is not as powerful as I thought it would be. I would recommend people try other products before buying this one. Moreover, when I upon it off I realize it is not that quiet.

Works as expected
I don't interpret the reviewers complaining about the lack of power. It's a 'personal fan' and I wouldn't want to sit in a wind hole that makes my eyes water and all my papers fly away, which speed two would if it were any more powerful. I keep it about two feet from me on the escritoire. Speed one gives me a gentle breeze with almost no noise and speed two makes my hair waving a little and it's still quiet enough to be drowned out by the sound of the A/C. As for the switch I don't find it difficult and can flip it with one hand. I uncover the fan first, hold down the fan by putting a finger between the base and the fan and use my thumb to switch it on and off. The fan pivots left and hesitation, which is nice, so you can adjust the direction without having to slide the entire fan around. It's stylish, finger-okay, and I got two for one on woot, so I'm very happy with the purchase.

Overheating Touch - Fire Hazzard?
My bride and I bought this several years ago and really liked it at first. However, recently we had a VERY serious concern. This has been one of the coldest weeks in latest history and this little heater has been put to work. Usually we just leave it on auto and it masterfully turns itself on and off when needed to heat up our cold dining room. But apparently it has been overworking this week...
Today my spouse pulled the DVTH's plug out to plug something else in the same outlet and noticed that part of the outlet cover was marked. She then noticed the end of the heater's plug was extremely hot. It appears that part of the plastic on both the plug and outlet defend has been melted... 'sigh of relief' I think that could have started a fire had my wife not unplugged it today.
On the produce's website it says it has an "Automatic Safety Shutoff." Not so sure about that... It should also be noted that a preceding version of this model, the DVH, was recalled in 2004. The Problem then: "A faulty electrical connection can producer the heater to overheat and stop working, posing a fire hazard to consumers."
Sound presuming?

Vornado Digital Vortex Stove-top
Works passionate...I keep it in my basement in the winter and it heats the whole basement when we are down there.
