These are the verified deal
I opted to pay a thimbleful extra in order to get these Vornado brand filters. Unlike the aftermarket ones I've had in the past, these fit definitely in the humidifier without any gaps. They also absorb moisture and stay damp all the way to the top. (Previous cheapy versions I've had did not.) My only yen is that these came with charcoal wicking on one side that help combat odor. That missing element is the only prevail upon I didn't rate these at 5 stars.

Deft filter!
I have a very primary Vornado room humidifier for the bedroom. Initially, when buying replacement filters, I chose the generic ones due to set someone back, but the fit was quite loose. I subsequently chose the Vornado ones for a little more cost, but much better fit. These are matchless; I have used them for years. Highly recommended!

Still sweetie my vornado humidifier
For the assay and job it does, still haven't found anything better. My only issues is buying these wicks every season, but thats the price for having a humidifier that doesn't off condensation or contribute to mold growth in your house! I'd recommend it to anyone.

Spot on replacement.
Sometimes things de facto do last a long time, like our Vornado 5-Gallon Humidifiers. I appreciate being able to find replacement pads that are advantageous quality and a perfect fit.

want they lasted longer!
The Wicks toil great when you first get them. Eventually, they succumb to mineral deposits and lose their ability to wick. I conduct to get 4-6 weeks out of one set. I wish that they lasted longer or that there was a solvent you could use to dissolve the minerals (hot water works a mini). Until that happens, I'll be buying refills on a regular basis. I suppose that it beats catching lots of colds or having dry fleece all the time.

It's exertion to use
As other's have mentioned, it's clamorous. It's a desk fan, it's on my desk, near my ears, and it creates a lot of noise in my otherwise quiet office.
But that's not the natural downside. It's the controls. They SUCK.
There is a little wheel thing near the base that you use to up-end on and off and change the level. It's impossible to use with one hand, so you have to *pick the fan up* in order to turn it on/off/up/down.

Unmusical on highspeed
At vespers all the time my wife uses this pretty little fan. On the low setting it is fairly quiet, but on the high environs the sound is enough to keep me awake. I have the fan sitting on a thick resilient foam pad and that does help, but the highspeed location is usless.

matchless bedside fan
I've tried a lot of Lilliputian fans for my small bedside table and this one is the best. It has a very small footprint - a bit bigger than a sturdy coffee mug. It is very easy to swivel side to side and up and down. On the low setting, it does not feel like a strong let one's hair down to the face - just enough breeze to cool me off at night. And it's so quiet, you can't hear it from more than a couple feet somewhere else (i.e., doesn't wake sleeping spouse.) One person commented about the control dial being problematical to manage: it isn't if you wrap your hand around the base and then use your thumb to push the dial back and forth.
This is the fan you wish for for those night-time hot flashes, ladies! And it's nice looking too.

Not that substantial
When I know the advertisement for this product, I thought it would be perfect to cool my laptop, as I use it for long hours as a desktop. Well, the subject has to stay very close to help cool it. It is not as powerful as I thought it would be. I would recommend people try other products before buying this one. Moreover, when I create it off I realize it is not that quiet.

Works as intended
I don't get wind of the reviewers complaining about the lack of power. It's a 'personal fan' and I wouldn't want to sit in a wind underground passageway that makes my eyes water and all my papers fly away, which speed two would if it were any more powerful. I keep it about two feet from me on the escritoire. Speed one gives me a gentle breeze with almost no noise and speed two makes my hair dither a little and it's still quiet enough to be drowned out by the sound of the A/C. As for the switch I don't find it difficult and can flip it with one hand. I unobstructed the fan first, hold down the fan by putting a finger between the base and the fan and use my thumb to switch it on and off. The fan pivots left and opportunely, which is nice, so you can adjust the direction without having to slide the entire fan around. It's stylish, finger-crypt, and I got two for one on woot, so I'm very happy with the purchase.

Fair good
I'm elated with this fan for the most part. It's small, quiet (on low), and reasonably powerful considering its size. It also looks nice (for a fan).
I only have a few complaints:
- Turning off/on is improperly designed, as many others have mentioned. This is much more annoying than you might consider.
- The switch goes Off, High, Low - so to turn it on Low, which is what I regularly want, I have to go past High first. Considering it's a pain to turn off/on in the first place, this makes that first bullet piece of advice even more annoying.
- It needs a "Medium" setting. Low is usually good for me, but sometimes I want more, and High is much louder and moves much more air than Low. If it had a Vehicle setting, that would be really nice.

Suits its good
Like others have said, it's a dinky looking little fan albeit a bit pricey for what it is. The low speed is great, and the high speed is significantly louder while not pushing that much more air. I've been using it for a few months now and it only ever sees the low precipitateness setting, but it's decent enough to keep me cool in my office where it's often 79F or so.

In the groove Fan
I had looked for a trivial quiet fan for a long time since my venerable Braun burned out. This one is a great replacement. The low zip provides adequate air movement while being virtually silent. This is a nice feature, as I use it at night while I forty winks to keep my head cool. The high speed provides significant air flow for such a small part, and is fairly quiet at the high speed. It can be pointed it about any angle you could want. The only reasons I did not give it 5 stars is that I yearn it had a "middle" speed as there are times when low is too low and high too high. The only other detraction is the on / off switch and speed correction dial is difficult to use, especially if you have big hands as I do. It's a case of style over function. That aside, it is a eager fan, small but moves plenty of air for stealth operation, well made, and fairly priced. I might even buy one or two more in case anything happens to this one. Buy it, you won't be let down.

I like the fan. It is bigger than I compassion and louder than what I read on the advertisement. It does the job for one room but I am hoping you can make a quieter fan in the following.

rectify AC efficiency greatly
Consumes 60W at the highest hightail it, but makes the room feels much cooler. Certainly saves a great deal of verve considering that most HVAC units consume more than 1000 W.
Very useful in improving the efficiency of AC units that are installed nearby the floor. Cold air tends to stay near the floor. Without this circulator there can be 5-10 slowly difference even within a 300 sqf room.
It is less useful in the winter (again for HVAC units that are installed close the floor), because warm air is more likely to spread to a wider area on its own as it ascends. But the circulator stills servants bringing the warm air from the ceiling back down to the floor.
Noise level is OK, and you can't barely notice it at the lowest bolt level.
The most efficient way to utilize this circulator:
(1) After turning on your AC units for 20 minutes, use a infrared thermostat to find out the coldest splodge within a room. It is usually right on top of the AC unit.
(2) Place the circulator on that spot, and point the air rush toward the ceiling area on top of where you usually sit (e.g. the sofa if you are watching TV).
(3) the circulator will drive the cool air upward (without the intervention it tends to on down in the floor area in front of and not very far away from the AC unit), and then slowly descent from above you. And you will feel a lot cooler because of the composure air and the breeze.
Comparison vs. Honeywell HFT114B Oscillating Super-Turbo High-Performance 3-Further Fan:
The Honeywell fan is $13 cheaper, consumes less energy (40W), its fan face can oscillate about 60 degrees, but you won't brook a thing standing 5 feet away from it. The two are as noisy at the highest speed level. Lastly, the plastic material looks much sturdier in the Vornado. Conclusion: I would certainly buy another Vornado if I need a second fan.

THIS Piddling VORNADO FAN WILL BLOW YOU AWAY!!
I have acclimatized these Vornado fans for the past four or five years. This new fan was a replacement for an identical Vornado fan which I thought had stopped working. Well I had somehow I had cut the power to the fan, hence the insight it quite. So now I have a spare as the old Vornado is still working perfectly.
Speaking of working, my little fan, will blow difficult (about one-half the way across my two car garage). We recently had a yard sale and brother was it hot. So I plugged the, older of the two fans, into a bulkhead plug in the garage. This Vornado fan kept a cooling breeze the whole day. So now as stated prior I have two of these identical fans and will not get rid of either one.
I can hugely recommend these Vornado fans. Just shop around to find the best price for one.

Potent compact fan
For the guerdon this is a great fan.
Haven't had the fan for very long but I use it at least 4 times a week when I run on the treadmill. It's very powerful, really circulates the air well in a margin and very compact. You can't beat it.

Specifically what I hoped it would be
On its lowest suddenness, this little fan provides a pleasant breeze from ten feet away with virtually no noise. The nothing is sufficient to keep my office perfectly comfortable with the air conditioning set to 80 degrees. This product is accurately what I hoped it would be.

Extensive little Fan
I have this fan as an individual fan, it cannot compensate for more than one person or one small space. Much better with circulating A/C air. Ordered this one and received it, however when I take on to purchase an additional one they are now unable to ship to the US Virgin Islands. I am certain if I was shipping it to Puerto Rico they would wind-jammer.

It works
Forgetting all the hyperbole around this fan, the event is it works well. I can turn my A/C up by 3 degrees and still feel exactly the same. I can turn it up an additional 2-3 degrees and I am still undisturbed. Without the fan if the A/C was turned up 6 degrees I would be pretty miserable. I move this fan between 2 rooms and sometimes I forget. When I do it doesn't take me long to note I'm hot. This is at medium setting in a 20x15 room. You can hear the fan at medium, but it's a quieter than the A/C and cheaper. On high, the fan is rather loud, you can really only do that for short periods of time if you need to move some air out (cooking, just get family, etc). Low is pretty quiet in my opinion. Hardly noticeable. Also, you don't point the fan at you at all, just give rise to it blow up and into a corner.

We have two... and they are all we requisite.
I am calligraphy this after reading a few reviews of a very expensive "bladeless" fan, and am appalled at the thought of noise from a fan of which they speak, as we are very delighted vornado owners, and have been for over 10 years- both of us thought it was worth leaving a review here... this is why we elect to give it every star we can- it deserves it.
We have a small and a larger one. The larger, we've had for ten years. It has only been cleaned once, which we needed to do after an aquarium fire. I meditation it may need oiling as I had never done it, their site warns you that it has a sealed motor which never needs oiling. Grievous for our dogs if they start to pant, we turn it on them and it cradles them to sleep.
Both are quiet, in fact I have the tv on reserved as I am typing this and all I hear from the small one now blowing on me is air, no hum as I have heard about from other "300 dollar" fans. We keep the 12 inch one downstairs, and take it case now and again, to keep mosquitoes off of us. It takes up barely any space, and even though we have ceiling fans, the 12 inch vornado is all we both indigence in our lazyboys.
The large one has traveled with us onstage (we sing) as well, most musicians I have turned it to have gone after the same element, as it has an amazing ability to hit you with a direct breeze from many feet away, and it doesn't send through to amps, wires and such, any hum at all. I can relay the look of redress from a hot stage they've sent my way when pointing it on them. That's why it's the musicians choice, especially during recording.
The larger one we have has also been in our bedroom for heartlessly 10 years, every night, we've never turned it on high, never needed to. It is quiet as well, and my lady is a luminescence sleeper, it doesn't bother either of us.
If you're in the market for a fan, I can swear by this product, once you buy one you will never need another one unless you have another locality in your home or workplace and don't want to keep toting this around with you- after you have one, we're 100% SURE you'll know the satisfaction we have sagacious as well. A completely solid investment, I tell friends about the vornado fans for a reason- pure superiority, and nothing but.

Nothing extra
I justified returned this fan to Home Depot. No specific complaints (except it was a bit stinky, but I would expect it from a new plastic cognizance). I just did not see how I could justify its price. I have a $25 fan that does the same thing - moves the air around, and actually more rapidly as it's a larger fan.

defeated within one month
The fan functioned as it should. I bumped the fan and it level 1 foot to the carpeted floor, one of the blades broke rendering the fan unusable. I will not replace this fan because fans are often bumped or be a patsy for cave in over and do not break this easily and I think box fans work almost as well for 1/3 the price.
One of the reasons I bought this fan was to move hot air out of the domicile at night so cool air could come in, it did not do a good job which really surprised me. Box fans do a better job then this Vornado.
